America’s Largest Grocery Chain Recalls These 20 Bakery Products – Eat This, Not That

Kroger has issued a recall of certain Country Oven bakery products because the ingredients used to make them may contain high amounts of iron. We’re not talking about the essential macronutrient commonly found in spinach and other vegetables, but rather “possible fragments of metal. “

Food security news was the first to report potentially harmful additives in starch used to produce baked goods. The ad includes Country Oven branded baked goods such as cinnamon buns, chocolate cakes, danishes, fudge cakes, marble cakes, vanilla cakes and yellow cakes. The products have been sold in nearly 30 states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon , South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

After a recall is issued, prompt action is taken to remove all affected items from store shelves. However, some items may already have entered customers’ homes. The “consumption” dates on the products concerned range from 12/28/21 To 06/04/2022.

The incident has been labeled as a “Class II” recall, which the United States Food and Drug Administration classifies as “a situation in which the use of or exposure to a nonconforming product may result in adverse consequences for the patient. temporary or medically reversible health or in which the likelihood of serious adverse effects and health consequences are remote. ”No word on possible illnesses related to the recall was provided in the initial report.
