A young baker opened her second “dream shop” when she was only 20 years old, employing her best friends.
Leanne Prescott, ex-Manchester United at Everton and academy player, has opened another store in Southport following the success of her first store launched earlier this year.
She spent most of her teenage years playing at various football academies in the Northwest, but after starting to cook for her family and friends, she quickly began to build a following.

After just three years, self-taught baker Leanne, her mother Petula and her father Peter transformed the outhouse from their home into a workshop.
Léanne told the ECHO earlier this year: “” I started my page at the age of 16 as a hobby bakery for family and friends.
“I started cooking in my mom’s and dad’s kitchen. In three years, I needed more space.
“With the help of my family, we transformed the outbuilding into a workshop which we expanded in three months.
“Soon after, we started looking for the store of my dreams, which we found faster than expected in the perfect location.
“Baking has not always been something I am 100% invested in, even though I have always loved to do it.
“I had been playing football in a perilous manner from the age of 10 at academy level and spent most of my time doing what made me a committed person.
“I didn’t expect baking would turn out to be a career for me, but I was delighted with the positive feedback I received from my previous clients and the progress I have made while learning on my own. . “
Following the massive success of her shop, regularly finding herself selling her goodies every day, she has now opened a stall in Southport Market which opened this week.
Léanne told the ECHO: “We are delighted to be in our second location in the Southport Market. I am so proud to work alongside other amazing companies
“It is overwhelming to see my small team grow after hiring 3 new staff to help us with our new business. So far it has been a pleasure to sell our products to a different audience and we have already had a positive feedback.
“We sell the same cakes and treats that we sell in our store that customers know and love, but we’re excited to experiment with new products like cheesecakes and more.
“This new location is hopefully a great next step for us as a business and I can’t wait to see how Christmas plays out here in the market and in the store. We look forward to what the future holds. reserves us as a company.
“Thank you to all of our lovely customers who helped us reach this milestone! “
