Marks and Spencers urgently recalls one of their favorite baked goods due to health concerns


Marks and Spencer has issued an urgent recall after undeclared ingredients put customers at risk for allergic reactions to one of its products.

The food, ironically named Made Without Wheat Gluten Free White Sourdough Cob, has been recalled due to the undeclared presence of wheat or gluten.

This means that the bread could pose a health risk to people with gluten or wheat intolerance or celiac disease, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The affected expiration dates are December 19, December 20, December 21, and December 22.

The FSA posted a statement on its website about the recall: “This product contains wheat (gluten), making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The organization continued, “Marks and Spencer is recalling the above product from its customers and has contacted the affected allergy support organizations, who will notify their members of the recall.

“The company also issued a point of sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have purchased the products.

M&S urged people who purchased the product and who have wheat and gluten intolerances not to eat it and bring it ashore to receive a full refund.
